    ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

All members are entitled to be represented and have up to four votes per member club. It is held within ten months of the end of the financial year at various locations on a date set by the Executive Committee. At this meeting the business of the Federation is conducted, officers elected, and the Executive Committee is formed with representatives from the affiliated clubs and societies. In the past we have held our AGM at Kiftsgate Gardens, Highnam Court and Westonbirt School where those attending have had the chance to view the gardens.

    SPEAKERS LIST

This is updated regularly and issued to affiliated clubs and societies via email, it contains details of speakers covering a wide range of horticultural interest.

    WEBSITE

This gives information from the members and from the Federation. Members are encouraged to contribute to the website by sending in information on their activities or establishing their own link to the gfgs site. It also has links to other sites of mutual interest.

    GUILD OF JUDGES

The Federation has formed a Guild of Judges which offers ongoing knowledge to existing judges and a training scheme for those wishing to become judges.

    SCHOOLS GARDENING PROJECT

The Federation supports gardening in schools within the area in which it has affiliated gardening clubs and societies.
Support is mainly through small grants made in response to applications from schools. The Federation is particularly keen to support schools which are starting a gardening project. Members in affiliated clubs and societies may be able to give help and advice to their local school.
There is more information under the ‘Support for my School Gardening Club’ button on the left.

    AFFILIATION FEE

The current Affiliation Fee is £13.00.

One of the conditions of affiliation is that clubs should have public liability insurance, this need not be purchased through the Federation.
