2014 Sweet Pea Show

The GFGS 4th Open Sweet Pea Show was held on 19th July 2014.

The Show was held at the Shurdington Community Century Hall as the Link Room had become too small and did not have enough room for visitors. The number of exhibits entered had gone up from 52 upto 84, but the violent storms on the Thursday before the show reduced the number of vases staged to 64. This was an impressive site as visitors entered the hall. Unfortunately the weather intervened again reducing the number of visitors.

The Judge was Len Harvey from Bristol who has judged all the previous shows. He stated that the standard was greatly increased every year since the first show and this year was no exception. Stewards were provided by our Guilde of Judges for this and the Fuchsia Show in the Millenium Hall. Rosemary Smith was our Show Secretary.

The Federation wish to thank The Cotswold Fuchsia & Pelargonium Society for their help and support, especially Rosemary, Robert Champion and Alan Cursue. The Cheltenham Horticultural Society kindly lent the Bikini Vases and we thank them for their support. Lastly, we must not forget about the exhibitors who produced such a wonderful Show. We had no new exhibitors this year but we are hoping that you may come and have a go next year.
